"Smart" Respiratory Architecture

My installation has taken recent inspiration from a the human cardiovascular system. Responding to the changing conditions in the airport such as passanger arrivals and departures, time of day, and external weather conditions, the membrane like concourse is alive and temporal. The aim of this intervention is to connect the passanger's act of walking and sensation of earth with the anticipated act of flying and sensation of sky.

Using multiple layers and differing ratios of permiability, the shell of the concourse will act to be sustainable and temporal.

will, this is a very interesting genesis for a project. i could imagine an image overlay of what you design ontop of this image and dotted lines showing what happens 1.) before/after resp. system
2.) before/after in term.
these two overlayed with oppacity changed could help you draw lines that would help take the two and transform them into one living breathing organism. blane

i wish your blog was next to this page, so i could compare what you said and what you said made me think. it is all in the layers, but the layers in your 'resp' have very specific and unique functions. i remember the talk we had about materiality but i think we missed the bigger points. their is a lot of info in that one foto, i would like to see more, how this componet works with the rest of the body in connect with how the terminal works with the rest of the airport. i guess jeff's image of the whole class makes me think of what you could achieve in a merging of your two ideas. but then again i have had a few beers and a lot of horticulture. blane
